If the Bainbridge-Guilford football team wants to get back to the Sectional playoffs, it'll have to rely on some new faces.

Coach Tim Mattingly estimates the team has about 6 starters back on the offensive side of the ball.

While he's thankful to have the starting running back, fullback and some receivers coming back, he'll have to build a new offensive line.

And break in a new quarterback.

But Mattingly says with the success of the Junior Varsity program, that shouldn't be a problem.

"There's a couple of new wrinkles, but everything we run, they ran as a JV player so when they come in, they have a pretty good understanding of our offense and what we expect and what they need to do," says Mattingly.

Defensively, the team returns 6 starters, and is working on breaking in a new secondary and part of it's defensive line.

Bainbridge-Guilford opens it's season Friday night at Unadilla Valley/Edmeston.
