The latest stop on the BNG golf Bargains tour is the Knickerbocker Country club, #5 a par 3 uphill. The man behind the scenes Kim Knickerbocker is going to guide our way.
A lot of trouble to get into on this one, starting with a pond right in my face.
What do we have to worry about on this one?
" You have the pong maybe 60-70 yards in front of you. The hole is 182 usually the wind blows directly in your face.
Some days you hit a 5 iron and other days you can choke down on a 3-wood. It's a good turning hole in a tournament."
What would you say right now, the wind is in our face, how much of a club difference is it?
" I'd say about a one club difference."
On top of the mountain now and the weather has changed a little bit. A little warmer and I see a lot more slope to this.
What's the best way to try and nuzzle this one up close? It looks like I'm going to have to play it pretty far left and let it run down.
" Yeah, you probably have to go about 4 feet left of the hole and just let it funnel in hopefully."
Kim that was a nice read off the green, now lets see if I can finish off the one putt par...A lot of slope to this and a lot of challenges coming up the hill, but really a nice look here, isn't it?
" Yes it is. Tournament times you can walk off with a 5 here so easy. In the tournaments 3 is a great score."
