Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton University men's wrestling team has battled through injuries and a new head coach this season, but it still has plenty of confidence heading into this weekend's Colonial Athletic Association Championship. The Bearcats are looking to improve on a second place finish last year, and several wrestlers may need to win the tournament this weekend to get a berth into the NCAA tournament. Senior's Donnie Vinson and Nate Schiedel are virtually assured of a NCAA bid, but neither is taking anything for granted. "Just winning both of those, the individual and team title at the CAA's really would be a great capstone on a conference wise," said Vinson. "But obviously the main mindset is at nationals and bringing home the gold there." "It would be great to go out with All-American, national champion status or CAA champion, team champions, but you can't let the emotions and everything go into it," said Schiedel. "Because a lot more go into play than what you can do so you've got to just look at it one match at a time." The CAA championships are this weekend at Boston University. The NCAA championships will be March 21st in Des Moines, Iowa.
