Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Despite losing in overtime in their finale, the BU women's soccer team squeaked into the America East tournament. That means a date with third seed Maine in Thursday's quarterfinals.

That's not the worst draw though, as the Bearcats beat the Black Bears just two weeks ago 3-2 in overtime on their field. Despite falling in three of the team's last four games, BU is feeling pretty good about its chances in the tournament.

"They seem to be in a state of readiness to take it up another notch here in the playoff time," said coach Sarah McClellan. "So I'm feeling real optimistic about what our players can do out there."

"The plan is to just go into Maine and every single minute get better and we just keep working," said team's leading scorer Stephani Church. "We learn from our mistakes if we make one in the game, we fix it and we keep going."

BU leaves on Wednesday to head up to Maine's Alumni Field. The Bearcats have won three straight in Orono, ME.
