Cortland, NY (WBNG Binghamton) After playing 5 seasons in the NFC, a Pro Bowl safety signed with the New York Jets in the off season.
Safety Laron Landry signed with the Jets in the off season after playing 5 seasons with the Washington Redskins.
In just 8 games last year, he had 48 tackles, 1 and a half sacks and a forced fumble.
"The first thing you look at is the physical stature of him but you forget the guy runs a 4.3. I mean the make up speed is phenomenal...if he stays healthy, we know what we have...that's a perennial Pro Bowl safety," says head coach Rex Ryan.
"Just trying to be an addition to a great defense already. We have a great front, great linebackers and our secondary is phenomenal. I'm just trying to be an addition. This is a little spice to this gumbo we've got," says Landry.
The New York Jets will take Tuesday off, their first since arriving at SUNY Cortland.
They'll be back on the practice field on Wednesday from 8:00 - 11:00 am.
That practice is open to the public.
