(WBNG Binghamton) One Johnson City native came back to Broome County, to swing something other than a hockey stick.

Toronto Marlies left wing, Jerry D'Amigo played in the 8th annual Maggie Memorial golf tournament at Traditions at the Glen.

He may have been playing golf, but D'Amigo still has hockey on his mind. D'Amigo says he recently started training for next season and he is taking what he learned from last season onto the ice with him.

"It was definitely a roller coaster ride with the lockout, with guys moving up and down and hoping to get your shot. But it was great for me, I learned a lot, you learn how to deal with the hardships and become better from it," D'Amigo said.

Even with the lockout last season, D'Amigo played in 70 games and had 17 goals and 12 assists.
