Endicott Post 82 wins American Legion state title

Utica (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Endicott Post 82 beat Saratoga Stampede twice Sunday to capture the 2014 New York State American Legion baseball championship.

Endicott won 10-6 in the first game and 6-0 in the second game.

In the final game, Nick Yesensky pitched five one-hit, shutout innings and Jared McStine threw two hitless frames to finish the shutout.

CJ Krowiak drove in two runs and Joey Orland went 4-for-4 at the plate.

Coming out of the loser's bracket, Endicott entered the day needing a win in the first game -- a 10 a.m. start -- to force a definitive championship game. They got it thanks to big game from third baseman Jared McStine. McStine went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Dylan Nardocci and Nick Yesensky each added two RBIs apiece; Matt Eastman reached base four times and scored three runs.
