Harpursville, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Last season, they won their first division title in 27 seasons. This year, the Harpursville Hornets look to win a sectional title and make it to the state playoffs.

The Hornets lost their leading rusher from last season, but return a wealth of talent on both sides of the ball.

They have most of their offensive line back and a veteran core in the backfield, with quarterback Devon Dean and running backs Steven Lee and Andrew Kimmell leading the way.

"It starts with the quarterback. Like you said, he's been running this offense for three years now and he looks so comfortable doing it. He's starting to analyze things. He knows his keys, he knows his assignments," says head coach Tim Petras.

"It's real important that we don't have to be teaching anyone the system. Everyone knows it so we're a step ahead of the game. They're already doing our plays instead of teaching people the plays we're putting in this year," says running back Steven Lee.

The Hornets start the season on the road against Delhi, before hosting Waverly in week 2.
