Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Last year, the Dick's Sporting Goods Open had one of the strongest fields on the champions tour. This year, it looks to be even stronger.

Tournament Director John Karedes says all but 1 of the players to win a champions tour event this year has committed to the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.

And they expect the other to commit soon.

This year's field includes 23 of the top 25 players in the Charles Schwab Cup race and 29 of last year's top 30 money winners.

Players include Bernhard Langer, last year's runner up Michael Allen, Fred Funk, Nick Price, Joey Sindelar, former champions John Huston and Loren Roberts and newcomers Rocco Mediate and Colin Montgomerie.

"The addition of Colin certainly just exemplifies the reputation that the Dick's Sporting Goods Open has on the Champions tour. As Colin makes his debut next week at the Senior Players, we were contacted initially back in May that this was one of the places he heard he needed to come and he was looking forward to it," Karedes says.

The 2013 Dick's Sporting Goods Open tees off in just 54 days.

Other players who have not committed to this year's event have until the Friday before the tournament tees off to commit to the field.
