(WBNG Binghamton) Former Johnson City standout and now Penn State defensive tackle DaQuan Jones has been named the top senior DT in the country by NFL.com's Gil Brandt.
Here's what Brandt had to say about Jones on the website:
"The play of the 6-foot-3 1/2, 330-pound Jones was a big reason why the Nittany Lions won eight games during the 2012 season. He is a strong player with good speed (5.15 seconds in the 40-yard dash) for the position."
Earlier this month Jones was named to the Outland Trophy Watchlist, which is an award given to the top interior lineman in the country. Jones and the Nittany Lions kick off the season against Syracuse at MetLife Stadium on August 31.
