M-E Boys ready for new competition

Maine-Endwell starts its run in the state playoffs Saturday at Binghamton High School. By the time M-E plays Saturday, they'll have had more than a week in between games, but that might serve the Spartans well.

The team says they're ready for a jump in competition level now that they are in the state tournament.

"We're fairly familiar with the teams in 9 and 1," said coach Bill Ocker. "We made it to that level a couple years ago, so we've kind of followed that a little bit. They're very talented teams, but at this point in the year that is all you're going to see."

The Spartans also have a bit of a home court advantage Saturday as M-E plays Burke Catholic at Binghamton High School. That game is scheduled to tip off at 4 pm, which follows the M-E Girl's State Quarterfinal game.
