(WBNG Binghamton) Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown this July, Major League Baseball announced Wednesday.

Maddux, Glavine and Thomas join managers Bobby Cox, Joe Torre and Tony LaRussa to make up the Hall of Fame Class of 2014.

Those six will be inducted on July 27th in Cooperstown.

Maddux and Glavine become the first 300-game winners to be inducted in the same class since 1973.

Thomas was a two-time MVP and five-time All-Star with 521 career home runs.

It's the first time that three first-ballot nominees were elected since the 1999 class of Nolan Ryan, George Brett and Robin Yount.

Of the players left out of this year's Hall of Fame class, Craig Biggio was the closest to induction. Biggio missed the 75-percent cutoff by just two votes.
