Maine-Endwell ranks first in the state; Tioga ranked second in Class D

(WBNG Binghamton)  Two-time defending state champion Maine-Endwell ranks first in Class B as the New York State Sportswriters Association released their first football rankings of the season this week.

The Spartans currently ride the states longest win streak with 27 consecutive victories.
 
Elsewhere in Class B, Owego Free Academy ranks 20th in the first poll of the season.
 
Up a class in Class A, Vestal makes an appearance in the rankings at number 20. The Golden Bears have started the season at 2-0.
 
In Class C, coming off its first regular season loss in two years, Chenango Forks is fifth in the class. Greene also makes the top 20, checking in at 20th.
 
Down in Class D, Tioga is ranked second in the first poll of the season behind Randolph from Section 6. Harpursville, off to an undefeated start, is tenth in Class D, while Walton ranks 12th.
