Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The 2012 Dick's Sporting Goods Open is in the books and tournament organizers are already working on next year's tournament.
And one of the main things they're working on is the date.
The Dick's Open is normally the last weekend in June or the first weekend in July.
This year, it was pushed back until August due to heavy flooding in September of last year.
The tour gave course superintendent Rocco Greco and his staff an extra month to get the course ready.
But after getting several big names to commit to this year's field, and an exciting ending, organizers are hoping to keep the tournament in August.
"Certainly we've got to finish discussions with the tour as far as the 2013 schedule but when you look at the field having the top 60 players commit, when you look at the weather, except for Friday, you look at the great turnout in fans and volunteers, it doesn't look too bad but we'll see," said John Karedes.
One man who will be coming back next year, no matter when it is, is champion Willie Wood, who now can play in any tournament he wants for the next year.
