(WBNG Binghamton) Here's a look at both the Seton and Chenango Valley boys basketball teams as they will face each other in the first round of the Mirabito STOP DWI Holiday Classic.

The Seton Catholic Central Saints are back in the Regional division after competing in the national division last year.

And when you see them, they won't look like the Saints you're used to seeing.

Coach Chris Sincki says he's team is still developing, especially on offense.

The team doesn't have as much size as in years past.

But one thing remains the same, the focus of this team, like in year's past, is on defense.

"We think that's definitely one of our keys this year. Just playing hard defense and keeping it a low scoring game, just a team that gives everything they have every night," says senior forward Brian Hartrick.

"We're not going to score as many points as we have. As of today, we're only allowing 42 points per game so I've been very happy with the way the kids have played defense," says Coach Sinicki.

The Saints are coming off a 12 point loss at Windsor Friday night.

The Saints first round opponent will be the Chenango Valley Warriors, another team that relies heavily on it's defense.

CV relies a great deal on it's guard play, including seniors Chris Ruffo, Zack Collins and long distance threat Pat Norris.

The Warriors don't have a ton of size down low, but that doesn't really matter to them.

They run a fast paced offense, and look to push the ball up the court anytime they can.

"From 5 feet on in, height matters, but from 5 feet to the other end of the court, size doesn't really matter on that one so we want to get out in the middle of the court and take it to the basket," says head coach Bob Zanot.

"Coach Zanot gives us a lot of freedom. We never have to worry about running set plays and being robotic. We've got a lot of freedom in the offense, it's great," says guard Pat Norris.

Chenango Valley, coming off a tough loss at home against Susquehanna Valley, will take on the Saints Saturday, December 29th at 7:30 pm.
