Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Seton baseball has lived on the edge all season, so why should Section IV title game have been any different? The Saints escaped a late push from Edison to win by a run, and now are back in the regional round for the second straight year.
Last year the Saints, of course, went on a run to the school's first baseball state title. Several members of this year's squad played a big role on last year's team.
They say it's experience they are calling on this time around.
"It definitely takes a lot of hard work, but there's a lot of luck involved too," said senior Michael Korchak. "You've got to catch some breaks here and there, but we're working hard everyday trying to get better."
"The drive is always there," said senior Rob Olsen. "We always strive to be the best, and for us to always push ourselves in practice, and for Coach Miller to push us, it means a lot to us."
Seton is scheduled to play at Onondaga Community College on Saturday at 1:30 against South Lewis. But the Saints have asked for a change because of a conflict with SAT testing on Saturday.
There has yet to be a change, Seton coach Jim Miller says his team could be without two starters if it stays the same.
