It was a familiar sight at Maine-Endwell high school as another Van Woert signed on for a college scholarship as a baseball pitcher.

This is Reid Van Woert, and the M-E ace signed on with Monmouth University.

" I've been working at it for a long time. I've been going to a lot of showcases and to a lot of baseball tournaments and stuff. I've been talking to Monmouth for almost a year and a half now. All along I knew they were a pretty good fit for me. I was just looking but I think I made the right choice."

Reid's older brother robert pitches at UCONN, and Reid says his brother helped in figuring out what was the right fit for him.

Another signing south of our border in a sport that is very big in the south.
Montrose area high school senior Megan Walker has been competing in gymnastics since she was 2....today she signed on the line to compete next season at Auburn University in Alabama.

" I've been looking forward to this day for a long time, even before I knew this was the place I wanted to go. I'm so excited and I'm so glad that everybody could come here. This is the place I want to go."

She was the 2009 Regional Champion in the all-around, uneven bars and balance beam.

This year, Megan won the all-around title State and Regional Championships.

At Nationals, she finished second on uneven bars and 15th in the all-around.
