(WBNG Binghamton) The Maine-Endwell Spartans have done something no other section 4 team has done.
Win 3 state football titles.
Coach Matt Gallagher says this championship was extra special because of the players that won it.
He says they work hard, play well together and prepare the way a championship team should.
But they are more than that.
"We've had very high expectations for ourselves. We've been looking forward to the task all season and all year and we worked out hard all summer and when the playoffs finally came, our eyes opened up and we knew we had to turn it up even more and I think that's why we showed we're a very good football team," says senior Nick Sorrenti.
"Off the field, it's just a fact that they are great kids. They're easy to root for, that's what I hear a lot from the faculty, I hear that a lot from the community that these kids are easy to root for. People want them to win, to be successful because of the fact they are great kids," says head coach Matt Gallagher.
The community will have another chance to cheer on the football team and others.
The school district is planning on throwing a parade on Friday. They'll start at 9:45 and go from school to the fire station on Country Club road.
