Syracuse, NY (WBNG Binghamton) After a little more than a week of practice, the Syracuse University football team packed its bags and loaded the buses as their camp gets relocated to Fort Drum for the week.

For the third straight year, the Orange takes its preseason practice to Fort Drum, which is about an hour and a half north of Syracuse.

The team will spend time with members of the 10th Mountain Division during their stay. Coach Scott Shafer hopes this gives the team some perspective.

"What I most look forward to is the the opportunity for our players to look across the table at the real warriors and the real heros right now in our society, especially up there at Fort Drum with that Mountain Division group of guys," said Shafer before the team left. "Men and women that really go out there and kick ass for our country."

Syracuse returns home at the end of the week. They kick off the season at home against Villanova on Friday, August 29th.
