(WBNG Binghamton) One of the oldest amateur tournaments in the area is right around the corner.

The Triple Cities Golf Association amateur kicks off next weekend.

The 3 day tournament dates back to the 1920's and brings in some big names and big competition.

This is the last year for TCGA President Tom Hackett, who says the winner of the TCGA Amateur joins some elite company.

"There's a lot of theater and drama. It's 3 rounds on 3 of the hardest courses, so if you win, you're joining kind of a fraternity that is a very difficult one to join," Hackett said.

The tournament starts next Friday with the first round at Traditions at the Glen, Saturday at Enjoi and the final round on Sunday at Binghamton Country Club.
