Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Vestal lacrosse goalie Nick Nestlerode will be looking to make his own bit of history next year. On Tuesday, the Golden Bear signed to play lacrosse at North Greenville University in South Carolina.

He'll be part of the school's first-ever season of lacrosse next year, which was a big selling point.

"It's really a unique experience," said Nestlerode. "I mean there's the chance there to start for all four years you're on campus and to really build a legacy and set all the firsts for the program. The first game, the first win, first save, all that stuff is going to be established once I get there."

North Greenville will compete in Division II for both men's and women's lacrosse starting next season.

Nestlerode plans to study business and sports management at North Greenville, while hoping to create a legacy there as well.

Storm Picks Mansfield
At Susquehanna Valley, Sabers pitcher Sierra Storm will be staying closer to home.

She signed to play at Mansfield next year, and Storm said fate played a little part in her decision.

"When my Nan passed away, I sang at her funeral "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and actually at a music class that I visited at Mansfield they sang that as some example," said Storm. "That just kind of sold me on it, you know what I mean?"

She plans to major in psychology and minor in music performance when she gets there next fall. Mansfield softball is coming off its first NCAA tournament appearance this past season.
