(WBNG Binghamton) Union-Endicott has sent two Tigers to the SUNY Cortland football team, one on offense and another on defense, and the Beddoe brothers now prepare for the second round of the D3 tournament.

Gary is a fullback for the Red Dragons, and was thrilled that when given the chance Cortland went for it on 4th and 1 to ice last week's victory.

But on defense his younger brother Troy has become a force. He lead the team in tackles on Saturday.

This season he worked his way into the starting lineup and finished the season second in sacks and tackles for a loss and led the team in forced fumbles.

When asked about Troy, Gary said, "he's stepped up huge. I can speak for everybody, coming up huge on the defensive side as a freshman is not an easy thing to do. But, coming up as one of our leading tacklers, sack leaders, it's good stuff."

Troy is feeling pretty good, but he's worked hard to get where he is.

Troy said, "I just worked hard during the summer, I just put in a bunch of time working out, doing a lot of agility, speed, lifting. Then coming in here, probably third on the depth chart, working my way up day by day. Doing my job, and then becoming a starter by making tackles and big plays for our defense."

Norwich grad and senior defensive lineman Vaughn Labor was also named first team all conference.

The Red Dragons next game in the tournament is Saturday at Wesley College of Delaware.
