Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) In the Class A Central Region final Friday night there are two teams, who are both coming off tight wins in sectional title games. For the second year in a row, Union-Endicott moves onto the state quarters. This time, they'll meet Section 3's Carthage.

The Tigers are coming off a 20-14 win over rival Vestal, which is a game they almost let get away down the stretch. Now, U-E faces another team didn't have an easy road to get here.

Carthage had to come from behind in their sectional title game as well. The Comets needed a drive with under two minutes to play to get passed Indian River in the Section 3 title game.

Both coaches have a lot of respect for the other's program, and that should set up a fun football game on Friday night.

"They are a good football team. All team's that win their sections is going to be a decent team to play against, so it's going to be a battle out there on Friday night," said U-E head coach Tom Baleno. "They're a big, physical team and I think we're going to match-up well against them, but it's going to be a great high school football game."

"They played CBA earlier in the year and I know they put up a lot of points against literally our best team from Section 3," said Carthage head coach Sam Millich. "So we know we have our work cut out for us. It's a great experience for these kids to be in the state playoffs, we're going to enjoy this journey and play the best game we can play on Friday night."

The two square off for a spot in the Class A state semis Friday night at 7:00 at Vestal high school.
