Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

Union-Endicott Head Football Coach Shane Hurd is leaving the school to become a quarterback's coach for Cornell, a member of his staff confirmed Saturday.

Hurd leaves to join U-E Alum David Archer, who was just named the head coach for the Big Red.

As of Friday, the school district said it could not confirm Hurd was leaving due to waiting for the school board to accept his resignation. That will not happen until the next school board meeting on Jan. 28. However, the member of his staff did say Hurd has informed the team of his decision.

This past season, Hurd led the Tigers to a Section IV Championship in Class A, and all the way to the state semifinals.
