(WBNG BINGHAMTON) Two local students have been awarded scholarships to play Division I sports at the college level.

Jordan Ann Wilson, who will graduate from Seton Catholic Central High School in Binghamton in 2014, signed her letter of intent Monday to receive a full scholarship to play lacrosse at Niagara University.

"My coach [at Niagara]...she sold me on the community, she sold me on the education, she sold me on the team and she sold me on the faith -- which is the number one most importance of my life," Wilson said. "So when it came to Niagara I was like, let's go."

Michael Korchak accepted a baseball scholarship at Bucknell University.

"The competition is great playing in the league that it's in with all the different schools," Korchak said of Bucknell. "I'm actually going to play the rival school, Holy Cross, where my sister's at. So I'll see her a few times a year and it'll be a great time."
