Twice a first-team All-State selection and twice a section champion on the diamond, there's no denying Nicole Osovski's talent on the mound.
Nicole says,
"You're in every single situation. You get to control the game and you really have control of the tempo."
coach Bill Dunden says,
"She refuses to lose. She's the hardest working kid I think I've ever coached. She always wants to get better."
But to truly appreciate the full scope of Nicole, you must look beyond the on-field performance. Despite playing on the varsity since seventh grade, Nicole's never once thought she was any bigger than any of her teammates.
"We're a pretty close-knit group and the girls want what's best for her and she wants what's best for the team and she understands that she's not striking everyone out."
"I know that they're always behind me so I feel comfortable when I pitch."
When Nicole was just a seventh-grader on varsity, the older girls took care of her and taught her something new every day. Now that she's the older girl, Nicole gives back. She volunteers her time working and teaching little kids at clinics and camps.
"I just love working with the little kids, showing them how they can love life, love to live it, love sports and love learning."
Her coach says sometimes Nicole doesn't even realize how good she is. But should she ever get out of line, she's always got her biggest fan and critic right beside her. Mom is the team's assistant coach. In Endwell with the Academic All Star, Justin Horowitz, Action Sports.
