" Dan is always in the right position, I imagine he's always in the right position on the court, and I'm sure it's the same on the lacrosse field the football field as well," says Tigers Head coach Kevin McManus.

Being in the right position carries over to his class work, where Dan always on the same page in any of his advanced placement or honors courses.

Back on the field, he thinks it's just as important to keep everyone else in the right position.

" Helping guys know where they are out on the court. Maybe if I'm not in the game just yelling, helping the coach make the right calls and help him tell the guys out there what's going on," says Cross.

"He's an assistant coach. He will take the bull by the horns and make sure guys are getting in the right spots. When he's in the game, he's going 100% full tilt, when he's not he's usually in one of the coaches ears identifying defenses and making calls and letting them know what's actually going on in the game," says McManus.

When he's off the court, Dan can be found with his nose in a book.

He keeps up a 90 average in the most challenging of classes and in the most challenging of circumstances.

" Sometimes it's hard, you know when we have an away game or something like that or a big project is due the next day, you know you might spend some nights, some late nights, doing work and everything," says Cross.

His sport seasons are just as demanding, a punishing year of football, basketball and lacrosse, something Dan describes as simply fun.

Once again Dan Cross finds himself in the right position, this time it's as our academic all star.
