Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

Another area standout has already signed her D-1 letter of intent.
Binghamton senior Jen Morabito will play basketball at Canisius next year.
She also keeps up an A average and is this week's academic all star.

" I play all year round. I love it."

Obsessed is a strong word, but Jennifer Morabito rarely puts down the basketball.
Whether it's practices, games, extra shooting, or even an off season devoted to improving one part of her game.
Jen says, " I knew I wanted to improve on my strength and more of my 3-pointer. Just my range and my shot to get it more consistent. "

When she does put away the basketball it's to try and improve a number even more impressive than her 20-points-per-game average.

That would be her GPA.

" I just know, with the work you have to get done when you have practice you have to cut out time to do both."

A leader in the class, she's also one of 2 seniors on her Patriots team.

" Right now I know what has to be done on the court. I think they have enough respect for me to know that I'm aware of a game situation and they'll come to me in a situation."

She doesn't command the ball, but she gets it anyway. And her numbers in the class are just as impressive as the ones on the court.

That's why Jen Morabito is this week's academic all star.
