Town of Chenango, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

There are many different kinds of leaders in high school.
There is the class president, a sport captain or simply a guy that everyone seems to follow.

And Andy Fox fits each description.

The Chenango Valley senior leads by example as this week's academic all star.

Andy says, " I definitely deferred on some issues, even off the court to senior leadership."

That was when Andy Fox was just a sophomore on a team that made it all the way to the state final four.

Since that time he's changed his role with the team, and his offensive game.

" I try to take on a bigger role, on the court too. Not just a shooter but driving and dishing, rebounding. Just trying to become an all-around player as a senior."

His coach Bob Zanot says, " When we have the ball on offense, he's got the green light. He can drive any time he wants, he can shoot any time he wants. But we know Andy is only going to take good shots, so it's all good with Andy. "

Coach says he's a natural leader on the floor, but does the same off the court.
He's an "A" student, class president and always looking to help his teammates, or the next generation of Warriors.

" The name actually got changed to YES LEADS. It's a program where you teach younger grade levels about making the right decisions, and making the right decisions for yourself."

Next up for Andy is leading his team into the sectional playoffs.
For now he's this week's academic all star.
