Allison Hall has loved running since she was little.
Both her parents are runners.
Her three older sisters ran cross country for Blue Ridge High School.
Now, she's following in their footsteps, as a senior leader of the team.

"It's like a family thing I guess. Montrose has a road race every summer and we used to do the fun run while our parents ran so it's just, we kind of grew up around it."

Hall has been on the team since 7th grade.

She says the thing about cross country that's so unique for her is you're not only competing for yourself.
You're also competing for your team.

"A single person can do really, really good or you can do good as a team. I like how you're not constantly leaning on someone else on your team to do good...it's really nice because you get to win together and you get to lose together but you can't...if you do bad, you can't blame it on anyone else on the team."

Coaches say cross country is the ultimate team sport, because it shows how much you're willing to work for your teammates.
They add, Hall has been the perfect leader of the team by setting a good example.

Tom Lewis says, "Allison takes right over after practice when we're doing our ab workout and our stretching...she takes right over so that I basically just have to sit back because she's been through the entire program for four years so it makes my job a lot easier having a senior like Allison."

Hall says she plans to go to college and keep running though she isn't sure where yet.

As for her favorite subject in school...it's math because there is a solution to every problem.
Kind of like solving a difficult course, while running in a cross country meet.
