Earning a varsity letter is quite an accomplishment.
How about earning 6 varsity letters, starting when you are in 7th grade.
That's exactly the case of this week's academic all-star.
Gabe Osterhout introduces us to Windsor Senior Chris Stricek, who's not only a top 10 golfer, but also ranks in the top 10 percent of his class.

Windsor senior Chris Stricek has been swinging a golf club since he was a little boy.
Back then, they were plastic clubs in the living room.
Now, he swings Ping Golf Clubs as the number one player on the golf team.
A position he's held 5 of his 6 years on varsity.

"To be a 6 year player just means I've been lucky enough to have the opportunity to contribute to the Windsor golf team for 6 consecutive years, just such a great honor."
In his 6 years on varsity, he's qualified for the Section IV championships at Cornell 5 times and qualified for 3 State Championships.
He's looking for his 4th trip to states this year.
On top of that, he recorded only the second hole in one is school history, just last month on hole number 7 at Ely Park.
But ask him, and it's the team success that matters most.
"We've won, I think our last 2 STAC East division titles and that's just such a great honor in itself, let alone being the number one player so that's really what I'm more proud of."
Stricek isn't just the team's best player, he's also like an assistant coach on the course.
"As a senior, he's taken on some other leadership off the course as well, helping me get the younger guys organized and being an example to the younger kids. He's also helped being sort of like an assistant because he has so much experience."
Off the course, he's a high 90s student with a love of history.
He plans on going to college to continue his golf career, and to major in secondary to someday be a history teacher.
But before he leaves, he hopes to make a little history of his own, helping his teammates win another STAC golf crown.
And that's why Chris Stricek is this week's Academic All Star.
