"My mom looked at me and said, you're not a good sitter. You don't like to sit around and do nothing."

If you've ever watched Greene's Megan McDermott on the basketball court, you know she's never-ending energy.

The senior averages more than 14 points a game, but she's far from just a scorer.

She's a rebounder and a defender, but if there's one thing she doesn't do well on the court, it's slow down.

"She is hyper all the time," says head coach Dave Gorton. "She cannot sit still. It's great that she's so excited about everything that she does. She doesn't care, she just goes 100 miles an hour."

That full-speed ahead approach also translates to everything else Meg does.

Besides captaining the Lady Trojan hoops team, she also captains the Lady Trojan soccer and softball teams.

"To be part of a team I think is what is really going to help me in the long run, you know, in a job situation or any other situation where you have to work with others because I have that leadership experience," says Megan.

Megan will take that experience and approach to Cazenovia College where she'll continue playing basketball and soccer.

As for her academics, Megan maintains a GPA in the high 90s.

Her secret?

Being organized and as she says, just a little bit OCD.

"I hate scribbles on my paper so I have to redo that a couple times and I have certain check marks in my agenda before I go on to the next thing," Megan says.

And now Megan can check something else off her list.
