His future team just played for a national championship while his current team prepares to chase a sectional title.
Through it all, Chenango Valley senior Josh Klepfer continues his impressive high school lacrosse career.

"He makes sure that all the defenders communicate with each other."
Coach Pete Weston adds, "He also gets assigned the job of having the toughest offensive opponent on the field."
Josh says, "I just love the feeling of going in and knowing I'm going to be on the best player and I'm going to shut him down."
And that in a nutshell is what makes Josh Klepfer a coach's dream.
The three-time all-section four long-stick defender has captained a defense that ranks among the area's most stingy, allowing less than six goals a game with three shutouts.

"I realize that when you start playing defense, you're not going to get all the glory. But, it's the little things that count, you know, the ground balls, the shutting down their lead player, you know, taking the ball away and setting it up for the offense and people do eventually notice."
Lots of people have taken notice.
Josh was a Central Team alternate in last summer's Empire State Games and will take his big-time game to Division Two powerhouse Le Moyne College next season.
He also gets noticed in the classroom, sporting a grade point average over 100, somehow only good enough to rank him third in the senior class.
But that's not even half of it when it comes to Josh.
"He IS the guy that always has something funny to say. He's got a great sense of humor."
"It's all off the top of my head. I don't know. I'm not like an on-script joke guy. We all like to joke around and it helps so much. We're all so close. We have our sayings and we can all joke around and have a good time."
The good times and hard work have paid off for Josh Klepfer.
