(WBNG Binghamton)

Right handed pitcher Edgar Ramirez has been suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball for testing positive for a performance enhancing drug.

Ramirez pitched in 9 games this season, 2 as a starter.

He is 0-2 and has allowed 10 earned runs in 18 and 1/3 innings.

He tested positive for Methylhexaneamine, which is found in over the counter nasal decongestants, but can be found in some muscle-building products as an energy booster.

The suspension is effective immediately.
