Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) While the future of Binghamton Mets pitcher Zack Wheeler remains up in the air, especially with the Santana injury, the B-Mets have added a pitcher and he comes with plenty of experience.

The B-Mets announced they have signed 39 year old left handed pitcher C.J. Nitkowski.

Nitkowski started his professional career in 1995.

In his career, he pitched for 10 teams, including both the Yankees and the Mets.

He's also pitched in the Japaneese and South Korean leagues for the past 5 seasons.

B-Mets manager Pedro Lopez thinks Nitkowski will be a valuable player for the B-Mets.

Not only does he give the team a second lefty out of the pen, but he has plenty of experience he can pass on to the pitchers at double A.

"It's just bringing that leadership, try to take the young kids by the hands and show them the way things are done at the big league level and higher levels," says B-Mets manager Pedro Lopez.
