Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton Mets are coming off a thrilling walk off win Friday night.

And one of the heros was starting pitcher Matt Harvey.

Harvey made his first start at NYSEG Stadium and it was impressive.

The right hander went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5.

It was a much better start than his first, when he allowed 4 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.

"At this level, throwing in high A to here, playing in Double A now, these guys obviously can hit so getting ahead, especially with your fastball, working it in and out, keeping it down, I was able to get a lot of ground balls and early contact, keeping the pitch count down," he says.

Harvey will represent the New York Mets in the futures all-star game next Sunday, July 10th.
