Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton Mets have lost one of their most reliable relievers for the rest of the season. Lefty Chase Huchingson was suspended 50 games after testing positive a second time for a drug of abuse.
No word on what the drug was, but it normally includes cocaine, marijuana, heroin, LSD, ecstasy and other opiates.
The 24 year old was 3-2 this year with a 1.61 ERA.
Jack Leathersich was sent down from Triple A Las Vegas to take his spot.
Huchingson is the second Binghamton Met to be suspended this year for violating baseball's drug policy.
Cesar Puello was suspended 50 games for using performance enhancing drugs.
