Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For the first time of the 2013 season, the B-Mets took to NYSEG Stadium in preparation for their opening day on Thursday.

The first thing that is noticeably different from Spring Training is the weather here in Binghamton. That's something Lopez said will be a little difficult to adjust to.

"It's pretty tough, but right now it's baseball and that is the good thing about it," said Lopez. "Whether it is cold or hot, we just do something that we love to do so just looking forward to the 2013 season to start."

Player's react to the cold weather:

After the team struggled to produce with power at times last season, this year Lopez believes the B-Mets will have more offensive firepower.

"Well I think it's a lot easier for me as a manager," he said. "When you look and you talk about power, there were so many games last year where we were down 3-0, 4-0 and just one swing of the bat with somebody on, and that puts you right back in the game, so hopefully that happens this year for us, and we can be in more games, and translate to more wins."

Lopez also talked about wanting to change his managerial style in his second year leading the B-Mets.

"Well I think, for one thing, I'm going to be more demanding," Lopez said. "The one thing I think I failed on doing last year was just being more demanding with the players. I thought that they were in double-A, they knew what they needed to do for them to go out there and perform, and at times we didn't do that last year. We lost a lot of games just because we didn't play fundamentally sound. So this year I'm going to be demanding in that regard, and just make sure that we do what we need to do in order for us to get better, and to win more games."

Binghamton kicks off its season on a seven-game road trip, starting with a trip to Akron on Thursday.
