    Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton Mets are set to change their name for the 2017 season and that name will come from the team's fans. New owner and team president John Hughes announced the change during a "New Owner Rollout" Thursday in front of team sponsors and partners.

    (WBNG Binghamton) The Southern Tier lost a local sports legend this week. Steve Kraly, a former New York Yankees pitcher and longtime official scorer at Binghamton Mets games, died at the age of 86, following a long battle with illness.

  • Pedro Lopez returning to B-Mets in 2016

    Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) With the start of their 25th season 58 days away, the Binghamton Mets announced the return of manager Pedro Lopez, pitching coach Glenn Abbott and hitting coach Luis Natera for the 2016 season Tuesday.

  • Pro Athlete of the Year: Michael Conforto

    (WBNG Binghamton) The Mets drafted Michael Conforto out of college in 2014. Little did he know then, what 2015 would be like. His first professional baseball season started in A-ball and finished in the fall classic. Along the way, he provided a big bat for the B-Mets.

    Three players who played in Binghamton in 2015 were honored with organizational awards Monday by the New York Mets. Leading the way was Michael Conforto, who was named the Mets' organizational player of the year.
