Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Last season, the Binghamton Senators were preparing for the Calder Cup finals.
This year, they're breaking in a new coach.
Luke Richardson will be the new man behind the B-Sens bench.
And he's going to have a little help.
Assistant coach Steve Stirling will be back for his 3rd season in Binghamton.
He says he's talked to Richardson a little bit about strategies and more.
"Just so much for him to digest. I didn't want to throw too much at him but we talked a little bit about systems. We're going to have dinner again tonight so we'll talk more hockey and we talked about rules and regulations, not that he doesn't have any. He's played for probably 20 different coaches over the years and I'm sure he's been through this but just give him an idea what we did the last couple of years for him to modify, add, subtract, whatever," says Stirling.
Richardson is familiar with some of the players on the B-Sens roster, having served as an assistant in Ottawa for the past 3 seasons.
