Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

The Binghamton Senators have been on a roll the last couple of weeks, picking up 11 of a possible 12 points, and that has them right back in the hunt for first place in the division. That streak includes going three for three last weekend.

The B-Sens started that stretch with their first shutout at home this season. That was followed by a win in the final minute of overtime. The weekend ended with a win at Hershey as Derek Grant scored with under three seconds remaining.

"I think it just gives us more confidence as a team," said coach Luke Richardson. We're finding ways to win in different ways and it amazes me how these guys keep working and doing that with just a great attitude and a good work ethic."

The B-Sens find themselves just one point behind division leading Syracuse. They could take the lead if they win tomorrow night on the road at Rochester. One of the biggest reasons for the recent streak has been the play of forward Corey Cowick.

During the past two weeks, Cowick has tallied three goals and four assists, leading the B-Sens to victories in five of six games. He said head coach Luke Richardson has confidence in him, and he's playing with a couple of great linemates in Jean Gabriel Pageau and Dustin Gazley.

"He puts me in a lot of situations where I didn't get the opportunity to the last couple of years so just getting out there more, getting out there in more important situations," said Cowick. "Him putting confidence in me which puts confidence in myself and playing with those two little guys helps a lot. I think a lot of these plays I'm making, anyone could make when you're playing with two really skilled guys like Pager and Gaze."

Cowick has also been great against tomorrow night's opponent, Rochester. In six games, he's netted five goals and added two assists.
