Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For the first time in 3 months, the Binghamton Senators are back on the ice at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Hockey season officially starts in Binghamton later this week.
After a long training camp, the members of the B-Sens held their first practice at the Arena.
While there are some familiar faces on the ice, there are several new players on this year's roster.
Players and coaches from last year's Calder Cup championship team say it's good to be back.
But add it's a new season, and the goal is again to get to the playoffs.
"I came back yesterday and I'm excited, going into the arena. I started to look forward to the season. It's going to be a different year. Obviously we lost a lot of guys from last year but I think we've got a good group of new guys," says goalie Robin Lehner.
"It's the same as every year being back. A little more fun maybe because we won last year but it's a new season and starts from zero again so just try to get ready for Friday's game...try to make the playoffs," says Kaspars Daugavins.
The B-Sens lost their final pre-season game in overtime to Hershey, the team they will face on opening night.
Opening night is this Friday, October 7th.
