The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins turned the tables on the Binghamton Senators Friday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. After suffering a 7-4 loss to the B-Sens on Jan. 28, the Penguins rebounded by handing Binghamton a 6-1 loss.
Alex Grant and Matt Rust each scored a pair of goals for the Penguins, while Ben Street received credit for the game winner.
In addition to Grant and Rust, three more Pens would end the night with multiple points. Nick Petersen rounded out the scoring for Wilkes-Barre, tallying a goal with just 48.3 seconds remaining in regulation and added a pair of assists to the scorecard. Joey Mormina and Eric Tangradi also drew two assists in the game.
Binghamton’s lone goal came on the power play, courtesy of Corey Locke at 18:15 of the first period. Stephane Da Costa and Josh Godfrey earned the assists on the play. Godfrey’s assist was his third point in two games.
Robin Lehner started in goal for the B-Sens, making 27 saves as he fell to 7-16-1. Scott Munroe earned the nod in goal for the visiting Penguins, turning aside 24 shots as he improved to 10-4-3.
Binghamton ended the night 1-for-3 with the man advantage and went 1-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The B-Sens return to action tomorrow as they host the Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are $18.50 for side seating, $17.50 for end seating.
