Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton)
The bad was plainly obvious to anyone in the building. but the good took a little while to compute.
Yes the Binghamton Senators were blown out in game 5 of their best of 7 series.
But no, they are far from finished
what they are is far from home. The Sens are back on the bus for a long ride back to Portland Maine today for Friday's game 6.
And while it may feel like momentum has swung to the Pirates side, the Sens still lead 3 games to 2.
"Well, yeah. I mean, we're up. We've got two games here to win, and it's going to be hard. They're not just going to roll over and give it to us. They've got some fight left in them, so we're going to take a day here and regroup, and we'll be ready to go this weekend."
"We're a good team. We're a good road team. We've been good all year. We've been good in the playoffs. So what we need right now, I think, is rest. We need to rest. I mean, we've been playing some of our guys a lot of minutes. We've got some defensemen that need to catch their breath a little bit, you know. But this team is capable. We've proven it before. We don't worry about the guys that are not in the lineup; we worry about the guys that are in the lineup"
Kleinendorst says some defenseman are close to returning from the injury list, but not close enough for game 6. The team may also get former 1st round pick Jared Cowen from his junior team, but nothing is official yet
