Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Ottawa Senators is starting to get its roster in shape for next season.

But there will be one person missing, when hockey returns to Binghamton.

Super fan Hans Peterson, also known as the Chicken Man, passed away Friday at the age of 86.

Peterson was a season ticket holder since hockey started at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in 1973.

He wasn't able to attend any of the playoff games this season, but did get to watch the Calder Cup finals on a computer and see his team win their first ever championship.

Peterson was the first to receive the Lifetime Fan Award, which is named after him.
