Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) With Nathan Lawson backing up Robin Lehner in goal Tuesday night for Ottawa, the B-Sens are down to just one goaltender in Binghamton. But help could be on the way.
Coach Luke Richardson said on Tuesday he expects the Senators to reevaluate starter Craig Anderson on Wednesday, as he continues to recover from a sore neck.
If Lawson does stay with Ottawa for an extended period of time, Richardson said Scott Greenham would be called up from Elmira to back-up Andrew Hammond for the B-Sens. It's a duo he said he would feel comfortable with.
"It's a good time for Andrew Hammond and it's an opportunity to step up and go," said Richardson. "We think he's played better over the last couple of games, I know he had a real tough first start, but we haven't played our best in front of him. I think now since we're going to try and clean up our 'D' zone, which we're working on, that'll help him settle in on what he can do."
For Greenham to be called up from Elmira, it would require a little planning. The Jackals are on the road in Florida for a set of games this week.
