Houston, TX (WBNG Binghamton) Tuesday night's victory was extra special for one of the Binghamton Senators.
AHL Man of the Year Cody Bass has spent parts of the past 6 seasons with the B-Sens, never finishing higher than 5th place.
And before this season, Bass had never played in even one playoff game.
In the locker room, after the game, Bass talked about how great it felt to be a champion.
"This is unbelievable. Couldn't ask for a better group of guys. We knew from the start that we had a special group and there's no better word than special. Everybody put a lot into this, from coaches to trainers to management. It has been a long couple of years but really, this is unbelievable," Bass says.
Bass did play in one game in Ottawa this season, but didn't register a point.
