Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Last year, he had to sit back and watch as his Binghamton Senators teammates won the Calder Cup.
This year, he's looking to be a big contributor to the team.
That man is left winger Corey Cowick.
Cowick split time between Binghamton and Elmira of the ECHL last year, and didn't make an appearance in a playoff game.
Coach Kurt Kleinendorst says he worked hard over the summer and his
game improved quite a bit.
Now, he reminds coach of a former B-Sen, Colin Greening.
"A big strong body that's willing to do the dirty work and go in and muck and grind and create and give him the puck and let him make plays and I think Cowick did a great job. He's already one of those guys that's shown what hard work does for you," says head coach Kurt Kleinendorst.
"He's one of the guys that's impressed me so much with his speed, tenacity, work ethic. He wants to play out there. He wants to be in situations," says Mark Parrish.
While he wasn't given an assist, Parrish says Cowick was a big reason the B-Sens scored their first goal of the season.
The B-Sens are back in action on Friday night, when they host Syracuse.
