Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The fans, just like the players, were disappointed with the outcome of the season.

But they stood by the team right through the end of the season...something the player say they appreciated.

Fans say they would have liked to see another run at a cup, but they understand this year's team was a little bit different than the guys who won it all last season.

And they say they support their team, no matter what.

"It happens when your team wins the cup. Players move up. Like I've said to anybody...you want to see our team from last year, just watch them on TV in Ottawa...that's what the AHL is all about. I wish we were going to the playoffs but maybe next year," says David Picciano of Binghamton.

After the game, the players took time to salute the fans in the Arena, for sticking by them during this difficult season.
