Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton)
The 2004-05 season, the regular season, was the best in Binghamton Senators history.
That was because the NHL was in a work stoppage and many of the young players tabbed to play at the highest level speant a season here in Binghamton, as the team was the #1 seed in the playoffs and Jason Spezza was the league MVP.
And the B-Sens management doesn't want that to happen again.
Tom Mitchell expressed those feelings yesterday, and it has nothing to do with that team's disappointing run in the playoffs, when they lost in the first round.
Instead he sees another NHL work stoppage as bad for the sport.
" I think what it's going to mean is we'll see 2 or 3 or maybe 4 players that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. But for the good of hockey I don't think it's going to enhance that at all. I hope somewhere over the next 10 days they find a way to settle it."
The B-Sens are just over a month away from the start of their year and are running a special promotion for all fans that have purchased season ticket packages.
